This apparently is the new trend on the beaches this year: The half G-string. We personally think its a step too far and may as well wear a sock! What are your thoughts? Hot or not?
Over the last eight months, life has been tough. I have been juggling a degree in Psychology, a part time job, my own yoga business and bringing up my three children single handed. Money has been tight and we decided to throw a puppy into the mix….oh my days. So….as my life was busy and stressful enough, I really did not need what was to happen next. My eldest child, a 15 year old boy, who, when everyone who meets him says he is sure going to be a heart breaker (I think he already is-as the gaggle of girls follow him around and he responds with his ‘can’t be arsed’ attitude) was run over by an elderly gentleman, and he suffered serious injuries. Two broken femurs to be exact. i found out by his friend calling me on my mobile, luckily…just as i had arrived home. What normally would take the likes of Linford Christie a good 5 minute sprint to where the accident had happened, it took me literally 3! There I was running like I had never done before down the road, dressed in a short red dress, and drivers beeping me as I ran past! For goodness sake….do you not know that my son has just been run over…that was my thoughts…in between ‘please god, please let him be ok, just let him be awake.’ Of course the drivers did not know that the lad laid in the middle of the road further down the street was my son. As I approached I saw a trainer further up the road from where everyone was crowding round. My heart jumped to my mouth and everything began to spin. ‘Please let him be alive….please just be awake..’ I kept repeating over and over in my mind. I approached his friend who was inconsolable. Luckily, my son was conscious…just. The ambulance seemed to take forever and my son was drifting in and out, trying to tell me he was going to sleep. I did all I could to keep him awake. I was not going to lose him no way. Although this was a stroke of bad luck (and we have had more since-but that’s another story) it was also a stroke of good luck…because he survived and eight months down the line he is almost back to normal….barr the metal rods in his legs…but he is getting there. HE IS ALIVE and that is all that matters. I came across this bracelet recently and it reminded me of what we as a family have been through these last 8 months…a serious accident, issues with the children’s father which has brought a lot of stress, anxiety problems, money problems, and finally only last week an accident at school involving once again my teenage boy who has now suffered a broken arm as a result! I can honestly say I have not had such a bad run of luck in such a short space of time. So when I saw the name of this bracelet….That’s a wrap-Get Lucky I thought, this is an omen, I have been brought to this for a reason.
THAT’S A WRAP…..that’s it….that is the end of this run of bad luck. GET LUCKY….With Pleasure! Buy the bracelet here at a modest cost of £3.50 can you afford not to…? 🙂 The bracelet is from a range of hand made jewellery by Kimberley Wilson, an entrepreneur who has been making jewellery as a hobby for a few years now, but has recently decided to make it her business, and we really do wish her all the luck, as the jewellery is something we personally really love. It has a contemporary boho chic kind of feel, something really wearable, and also something wish is just as great as a gift. Read other reviews of Kimberley’s Jewellery

In short…..no. Haha, even to see a man in those cycling ones kind of turn my stomach, no matter how fit the man is. There is just something not very manly about them and I really do like my men to be men. Sorry, it is just the way I am. However, if he wanted to buy a pair of these rainbow diamond ones (in my size) that is ok, as I would wear them. 😀
Just a quick word to the men: “Not cool. Do not do it…….sorry boys.”
Those of you still intent on doing it <sighs> you can get them here…….
I have always had a little soft spot for Desigual. I first fell in love with it when I found a fabulous dress in a boutique in Spain. It was quite expensive for me, but I decided to treat myself as it was something different. I have worn it lots and it washes so well as I still wear it now and have had it for over four years. I have definately had my monies worth so I just thought there were worth a little mention. They provide clothes for women, men and children. I personally absolutely love these pants!
Just a small selection of the girls clothes which can be found on the Desigual website. You can shop for them here…. http://www.desigual.com/en_GB/kids-clothes/
Finally, here is something for the boys….
There are also a small selection of baby clothes. I recommend Desigual based upon my own experiences. The items I have bought wash very well, have kept their shape and are always commented upon by my friends as they are different to other things you can buy on the high street!
Shop Desigual here if you like the look 🙂 http://www.desigual.com

Finding the the Gipsy in you…
After having the opportunity of perusing the Phase Eight website, at first I found it rather difficult to choose my outfit, as there are so many options. After an hour or so of consideration I have finally decided upon my choices. I am so happy with these I am considering purchasing this dress for an up and coming event I am attending. I ABSOLUTELY love it, and can see any front row guest in this outfit. The style of the dress is something I would expect to see on the likes of Kate Moss and I love the colour.
I decided to accessorize this dress with a bolero style jacket, which is made from chiffon, giving a sheer look.
The outfit is finished off with matching shoes and bag, in gold which gives extra ‘bling’ and sophistication to the outfit, giving the perfect front row outfit for London Fashion Week! The shoes and bag also have a touch of ‘black’ tying in to the colour of the bolero.
Hope you like it!
As you may or may not know, I love to write about things I like, including clothes and accessories. My chosen items this time around are from a designer called Annie Haak http://www.anniehaakdesigns.co.uk/ Her website states that she gets much of the inspiration for her designs from the magical island of Bali where she is based for most of the year. Her influences are gathered from many aspects of Bali life from the local flora and fauna, the magical people and the colours and patterns found in the local markets and villages. Perhaps this is why some of the pieces really do appear rather magical!!!
Many of the designs carry a special meaning by way of mantras or symbols that represent luck, love, protection strength and well-being. It is core to Annie’s design ethos that all her designs should carry a message of either love or support.
I first came across this designer a couple of years ago when I was reading a spiritual magazine, some of her bracelets incorporating guardian angels were featured in the magazine. As a total ‘angel believer’ I immediately fell in love with them. So much so in fact that I cut out her Sama My Guardian Angel design and added it to my collage art work which hangs in my bedroom.
Additionally, I am naturally attracted to silver jewelry. It appears to suit my skin tone much better than gold. However, there is now a few gold and rose gold options, which are equally as beautiful, I guess it just depends upon your personal preference.
Unfortunately to date, I have not managed to get my hands on the bracelet stack I so desperately would like (see featured image), due to lack of funds, but should I ever start to get paid for my writing, then I will ensure my first pay check pays for one! I have however, treated myself to a lovely pair of earrings. Which I have had now for over a year. They are simple but lovely, a star with a single diamond in the middle. They still look like new and we were worth the pounds I spent investing in them. In addition, they came in a beautiful lined velvet bag and box which I now use to store some of my favourite crystals. This is a range which when you receive the item, everything about it screams ‘quality’. I was not disappointed and look forward to when I am able to add to my collection.
There are also lots of other reviews from happy customers on the website. If you like the style of this jewelry have a read, you will see there is nothing but positive comments about the quality and style of the jewelry. I am sure you too will love this range. I know Danni Minogue and Ferne Cotton are big fans too!
Closet Clothing http://www.closetclothing.co.uk/
I recently bought a royal blue dress from Closet and I have to say I absolutely love it. For the sheer reason that the ‘cut’ of the dress is amazing and so, so flattering. For some unknown reason I managed to fit into a size 6. The material does have some give, so I am guessing it is just very forgiving :). You cannot tell from the picture here but the material has a ‘waffle’ effect to the material and also is fleece lined so perfect for these horrid winter nights out. I wore this on New Years Eve and also a few times since (but with tights instead of over the knees!) I would not normally wear over the knees to be honest, but NYE was an exception as we were going to a private ‘party’ where we were raving all night and anything you want to wear goes without you being judged by the masses 😉 (I am 33 after all).
I loved this dress so much I have been trying to track down another one in another colour but to no avail ;-( Closet if you are listening…..customer right here, please help me out (red preferably….i have the pennies just no trace of a dress).
If you are lucky enough to come across one of these skater style dresses at the very least try it on, I guarantee you it will make you feel amazing. The best thing is, they can be dressed up or down, making them very versatile and ensuring you get your monies worth! Well done Closet!!! Average cost of a dress is around £50 so affordable for the majority, I am sure you will agree! I am definitely a convert.
Some of the other stockists (if you would rather try before you buy):
The thing I like the most about the products from www.gipsydharma.com is that they are all hand made made from leather. The range includes boots – from ankle to over the knee thigh boots and short leather skirts. Everything about this range reminds me of nature and earth, they are so natural and there is nothing fake about these products at all. So what is the cost? You would expect it to be expensive right? Bearing in mind they are made from the finest soft leather, and all hand made. Well you may be surprised to note that the costs start at just £80.00 for a pair of flip flops which have recently been added to the site, with the most expensive product, a pair of over the knee thigh boots (very sexy indeed!) currently costing around £260.00. Not bad if you ask me!!! So if you are lucky enough to have the pennies already saved treat yourself. Or, if you are like me, get saving…..I am wishing for a pair of these just in time for the festival season:
Gipsy Dharma also run weekly competitions to win a pair of their fabulous boots https://www.facebook.com/#!/GiPsy.Dharma.Unique.Clothing?fref=ts

I am not likely to be getting married any time soon, bearing in mind I am not even in a committed relationship. However, when I do get married this time I will be wearing a dress that I actually want to wear. So it got me thinking about what I would wear and I decided to have a look and see what was around. This is what I decided on:
This is totally my style and if I had to have one made for myself I would have described something very similar to this. Luckily I have a similar figure and hair so I should just get away with it!
I have to admit my style icon is Kate Moss and I came across her wedding photographs whilst perusing the thousands of images. This picture really made me think I would love to have a long veil for the ceremony.
I also love how all the bridal party are dressing in white. It really looks amazing and so different from the usual weddings where you are normally told not to wear white clothing so as to not upstage the bride.
I recently attended a wedding where the bride and groom asked all the guests to wear red and ivory. The wedding pictures looked amazing so I reckon I would love to go down the same theme and ask the guests to wear a certain colour to tie in with the overall colour theme, that way you could have the decorations as simple and minimum.
